Which leads me to a DO for this forum.

DO try to be considerate of other's feelings when deciding to talk to them about their attire. Basically, follow the golden rule. (not the "he who has the gold, makes the rule")

We all giggle and laugh at the pictures posted here, and probably giggle to ourselves when we see them in public. But DO be nice in person.
Indeed. A little courtesy is a good thing.

I've been attending various Scottish events for 50 odd years. Only in the last 10 or so has that sort of apparition become fairly common. But I have to hand it to those guys for sheer guts.

I did EXACTLY that (well...except for the 155 part hahaha)...my shop promised to call me when the tartan arrived and take my measurements again -- because I was working on dropping some padding that had accumulated over the years...but they didn't...and now I have a beautiful kilt that is probably an inch too large at its tightest...but who knows...5 years from now, it might be perfect again!

DON'T purchase your kilts from costume shops. Not only is the product bad, but you'll spend WAY too much.

Check out this link. They have a kilt costume kit for $250.00!!!!

Here are some examples of Kilt Don't costumes for sale out there.

OMG, that's like 5 minutes from my house! I've got half a mind to walk in there all kilted up nicely in an outfit I paid half that for and start laughing at them.
