Nah. The UK original, mocker, and survivor models are made of softer fabrics. Actually, Riverkilt has reported in the past that after it was broken-in his denim UK became one of his most comfortable kilts. Nowadays most blue jeans are pre-washed, so as to spare us the experience of pants that are stiff-as-a-board.

    Panache, DaveDove -Great comments guys.

Wow! If it's that stiff there can't be much of a pleat swish.

Now there's a kilt that's good enough to "stand on its own"

My next UK will be a Workman's (sometime after the SWK WM) because it is stiff & heavy.
My Mossy Oak Original is very like brushed cotton. Soft to the touch, but keeps its shape nicely.

That's some denim I'd be proud to pull a full work day in. And my work days are usually 11-14 hours.

To all kiltlifters; "Nya! Nya! Nya!"

It is Kiltlifter proof - as well as grope proof and bullet proof.

Seriously, admitting my age here, but regular Jeans used to always be like that when first bought. We used to go swimming & playing in them for a day at the beach to break them in.
(after, of course I walked ten miles to school in the blinding snow, with nothing to eat but a crust of bread and a mouthful of ditch water...)
