Solo Piping Competition, Part I
Graham of Menteith, ancient colors, if I am not mistaken.
I admit I had to look this tartan up: it's the Johnston, ancient colors. I recognized the judges' tartans instantly, though. The one on the left is wearing one of the Ogilvie tartans, the one that seems to be regarded as the clan tartan. The one on the right is wearing the MacFie (or MacPhee), ancient colors.
You may recognize this piper from the Highland dance pictures.

Professional Caber Toss
If I read my program guide right, this is David P. Webster, O.B.E., president of the International Highland Games Federation. He appears to be wearing the Lindsay tartan. Check out those hose.
Harrison Bailey tosses the caber.
This, I believe, is reigning world champion Gregor Edmunds. I didn't stick around to find out if he retained his title, though.
MacDonald tosses the caber.
And, lastly, Irn Bru.

Solo Piping Competition, Part II: Piobaireachd
I saw these people filming while the Highland dance piper was playing. I figured they were either from a local news channel or from the University.
After the competition. I went up and talked to the judge. His name is Bob Richardson. (Richardson is a sept of Ogilvie.) The woman in the kilt asked me about my vest, and I in turn asked her about her tartan. I had mistakenly assumed it was Morrison. It was Flower of Scotland.

Scottish Country Dancing, Part I
Three girls for every boy.
Duncan and MacAulay. It took me a while, but I remembered these two tartans eventually. Note how far down the pleats are sewn on the MacAulay kilt. I'm not sure I care for that look.
Fraser Hunting, on the other hand, I immediately recognized.
Oops! Looks like baby Bruce wants to join in on the fun.

Lassies Galore
Lassies Galore! ...and a handful of laddies as well.
Hmm.... That fifer looks familiar. Now, where have I seen him before?
"I can tell that we are gonna be friends."
It's getting dark now, and my camera's flash is only illuminating the heads of the people directly in front of me.

Scottish Country Dancing, Part II
Kilts! Walking sticks! ....
Dancing into the night. Actually, they finished soon after I took this picture. I had a Scottish meat pie or some such (beef & oatmeal inside a pie crust), then headed out, cutting through the Glenfinnan tent, where "Fiddle Faddle" was playing, on my way out.

And now, for those who have followed along this far:
See this? Last week I visited some fabric outlets in Dallas, and this little gem caught my eye. It's 100% wool (albeit not worsted), 60 inches wide and a little over 4 yards long. It cost $6 a yard. I'm not certain what weight it is, though. The sticker isn't really necessary, as it's quite obvious which side is the face and which is not. I thought it was just some generic tartan, but I've come to the realization that it could easily be interpreted as a weathered Argyll District/Campbell of Cawdor. I'm not sure exactly what I want to do with it yet, but without doing any cutting or sewing, it ought to work fine as a belted plaid. Too bad it's summer and I live in Texas.
I've tried it on a few times, but I haven't figured out the best way to arrange the plaid. Here's one attempt:
And from the back:

Goodness! I nominate you as the official D/FW events photographer! Great thread... thanks so much for taking these and posting them for us
I've been dying to hit the fabric district for a while... I've had to put my sewing on hold for a little while though since it's not in the budget for it. Good luck deciding what to do with your find!
