What do you do when you can't decide?
I have been communicating with Rocky at USAK recently and the email replies are quick. He also explained that he makes kilts to the length specified by the customer - a huge plus in my opinion. I had ordered some items from USAK and it seems that Rocky knows how to circumvent time like Jerry does because the items always arrive faster than I would think possible.
My problem is I have my eye on 9 tartans at USAK. I made a list of the nine I wanted, then made a list of the ones I really wanted first.. and I ended up with two identical lists. I can't decide.
So, what do I do now? Eenie meenie minie moe? hehe
What do you do when you are faced with selecting an initial tartan from a list of desired tartans?

Does he have magical unladen swallows as well?
For me it would be simple. If one of the tartans is your family tartan, start with that one. Then the rest can follow suit when you can. That's how I would do it, and probably will considering he has my family tartan as well as the American Heritage. Family first, universals second.

Another thing to take into consideration would be the clothes you already have. What color shirts and hose do you have to match the selected tartans? I'd pick the one that I could coordinate into the most outfits.

Rocky does have a limited supply of MacGregor tartan in PV, but I already have 5 MacGregor kilts. But, it's an excellent idea.

Hmm. let's see. I have kilt hose and flashes in blue, green, red, oatmeal, and black. I have shirts in the same colors.
All of the tartans I want have at least two of those colors. I normally buy hose, flashes, and shirts to match my kilts.

LOL. Looks like you're still at square one. Put up a poll and have everyone vote and you buy that one.

It's very simple.
You get the Galbraith tartan.
That's what I'm going to do.

That one and Scottish National are on my list.
Jamie, you may have just helped me narrow it down

I second that! That will be my first purchase from USA Kilts when I save my pennies up!

Both of those are awesome. Someone here posted a way to pleat the Scottish National which I thought was absolutely stunning. I'll find that thread. Maybe Rocky could do that.
EDIT: FOUND IT!!!

So far that's all I have come up with. But acknowledging that this is a rather subdued tartan I am not sure I am impressed with any of these. Maybe the red and white.
