And one last one for the esteemed rabble. The official tartan of the lawn flamingo hunters association and it's current president...

"A veteran, whether active duty, retired, national guard or reserve, is someone who, at one point in his life, wrote a blank check made payable to "The United States of America", for an amount of "up to and including my life." That is honor, and there are way too many people in this country who no longer understand it." anon

    MacGregor tartan...

Was that a MacGregor tartan I saw the one fella working on? It looked as though it might have used black tri-stripes instead of green? Just curious...

And here I am within an hours drive or so as I type this, but committed to the Blairsville games. Sorry I can't make it to either the caliedh or to the get-together at Paddy's with Mr. Wizard.

Yup. two of the kilt kampers are working on MacGregor kilts. Both are the usual MacGregor tartan, though -- the green just turned out dark in the pics.

But there is a version of the MacGregor tartan that replaces the green lines with black ones. Ewan MacGregor's mom of all people had it woven up special for her use.

What a great day I had yesterday at the seminars. All the presentations were wonderful. It was great to meet such luminaries as Barb and Steve and to see their work close up. No matter how much I hear and read, Matt and Bob Martin will always find new and interesting information to present. Between seminars, it was great to just shoot the breeze on the sidewalk out front.

Steve, I've just started a new khaki poly/cotton for my youngest son so I can practice some of the tricks you showed me yesterday.

Thanks Matt, for hosting this wonderful event.

So glad to hear that KiltKampEast was a success. The pics were wonderful although not many smiles but many looks of concentration. I'm sure with the instructors that were on hand, we will be seeing some fine kilts in the next while.
