    Review of Scotweb Kilt

I just opened my made to measure 5 yard Kilt by Balmoral casual in Morrison Ancient Green. I ordered this so I had a clan Tartan for all the times my Tank is just too nice for. First it is much lighter, only has two buckles, yet the workmanship looks very nice. I was suprised when I opened the Royal Mail Parcel ( No Additional Fees for import on this), that there are no basting stitches holding the pleats together. It is badly wrinkeled, so tonight I will baste stitch it and iron the pleats as I have learned on this site.
Pleasently suprised that the Royal mail only took 8 days from Edinburgh to Kaneohe Hawaii!
The bad news is I ordered this in January!. On the Scotweb site, I would often sign in to check on the status of my order, on that page they have listed the Max est. dispatch date. I watched as this Maximum Estimated Dispatch Date came & went and was changed 7 times. After numerous e-mails
and trying to get them to understand that Maximum means Maximum ( it did not work - they still think Maximum estimated dispatch date means the same as estimated dispatch date)
The reason for the 1st delay was they found out 20 days after the Max est dispatch date that they needed two more yards of material, The other 6 delays were linked to the same in one way or another.
Look of kilt now = C
Look of Kilt once ironed =A?
    Workmanship = A
    Shipping Royal Mail = A+
    On time schedule= D
    Customer service = C
Will I love this Kilt= most definately
will I purchase from Scotweb again= NO
I will post pics once I Iron the Kilt- it just looks too bad now.
And for all you Scotweb "protectors", these are my honest opinions- KEEP YOUR CENSORSHIP OFF my post!

    SFCRick,

Thanks for posting your review. It seemed pretty a fair and complete look at your interaction with Scotweb. I'm curious about the lack of basting stiches as this has been a standard feature with every wool kilt I have purchased. Pictures are always appreciated.

I'm curious about why you chose to end your review like this

The Moderating Staff tries very hard to fairly enforce the rules here on XMTS. We do not protect our vendors against fair reviews.

I can't help but think that you are directly refering to a recent complaint against ScotWeb made to the forum. I brought up many issues that hadn't been addressed by the member that would clarify her position. Nick of ScotWeb then responded that he was going to personally look into the matter. As they began their dialogue it seemed more fitting that they continue their communications privately as this was a matter between customer and merchant.

I hope that the member involved will post about the final result of this discussion and her experience as a customer. Fair and complete product and service reviews are always a welcome read here on XMTS. I stand by my position that the open forum isn't the best place for a merchant and client to resolve a difference.

    Respectfully
