Your aerial pictures are always outstanding Alex, being able to see the world from a decent but not excessive height which is always the problem in a commercial aircraft where you are so often above concealing clouds.
It's many a long year since I was last in Oban!

I've taken the very ferry from Oban to Mull for a coach trip across the island to Iona. Wonderful! Oban is just west of Taynuilt and Glenoe, the ancestral homeland of the MacIntyres. I've also taken the ferry between Ardrossan and Brodick to visit my pipe-maker at Dunfion. And, I drove around Arran to visit Lochranza and the distillery there. EXCELLENT memories. I go back this very July.

Wow Alex. Thanks for those pics - they really make me want to hop a plane and come for a visit.
Seems to me I remember a pub in Glencaple where Freelander introduced me to cheese and pickle toasties.

For those of you who follow P1M's exploit's, just around the point on the shore road from Glencaple is Caerlaverock Castle. If you want to send P1M a message you can get get Alex to sky-write for you the next time he passes by.

I really liked Oban. I wasn't a fan the first 20 minutes, but I was hungry and looking for a B&B. Once fed (I think I still have heartburn from MacTavish's kitchen in the city centre) and the bags dropped of at a great B&B I had a great time. It's one place I would like to go back to and see more of.
