    A kilt sighting in DC

So on Father's day I was in Washington DC doing some shopping which I always do when back on the east coast. I just got off the phone with my Dad and heading to the Metro (subway in DC) when up from the station I see a gentleman wearing a UK. I stopped him and asked "Sir, are you wearing a UK? he replies "yeah it is". I shook his hand and said I am also a kiltwearer. I did not stay more then 30 seconds because he looked like he was having a bad day, but I know it made the day a little more better with the handshake. As we went are seperate ways I noticed his friend in a UK too. So DC is the place to go kilting on a beautiful Sunday afternoon. If you are wondering if I was kilted, I am sorry I was not. Both kilts were back in Pa getting pressed.

So, your kilts are de-pressed? Sorry, couldn't help myself. Good story. Thanks for sharing.

I bet it made his day better that you shook his hand and acknowledged his kilt. Good on you!

When I was in DC a few weeks ago, I saw a kilted gentleman in Union Station. He seemed to be there to pick someone up from a train as he left with a young couple with baggage. Unfortunately I was across the way at a restaurant with a bunch of folks and didn't get to go introduce myself. DC seems to be a great place for kilties!

A good hand-shake is always welcome among men!

This is a factor sometimes lost in our "modern" age. I encourage you to continue the custom!
