Great pics, everyone. We arrived later in the day, after driving through some serious storms, and by the time we got to Franklin, everyone was soggy! Most of the vendors were tarped over, and the crowd had shuffled off. Still, we got some tasty snacks, heard some of the music, and toured the museum. I had hoped to say hello to Matt, but the lad was very, very busy!

Still, a soggy day in the mountains of NC is still miles better than any day in Charlotte!

My favorite pic from the weekend....

Nothing like a little pink death camo for a kilt, is there?
"A veteran, whether active duty, retired, national guard or reserve, is someone who, at one point in his life, wrote a blank check made payable to "The United States of America", for an amount of "up to and including my life." That is honor, and there are way too many people in this country who no longer understand it." anon

    My son, the Highland athlete

I mentioned earlier that my son got to participate in the children's Highland games. Finally got some pictures of that, courtesy of my friend Bisell McWilliams.

Here is my son, Josiah, waiting his turn in line:

    His adoring fans...
(That's my wife, daughter & baby son in the background).

    Preparing for the sheaf toss:

    And away it goes!

    Now for the hammer throw.

Love the Black tartan, and those pics of your son at the games are adorable. I love the hammer throw. If they let adults use that kind of hammer throw, I just might be able to compete someday.
