Would a cow hide sporran be an option?
Here is a picture of me in my formal rig
The sporran is somewhere in the middle of the picture on me, between the two beautiful ladies. It might take a minute or two to realize there is a third person in the picture.
Seriously though
If your wife doesn't have an issue with cow leather, then this might be an option. I think that is a handsome formal sporran.
