I just talked to my brother and I am STOKED!
My brother's band is playing an event in a couple of weeks called "No Pants Fest," and the whole idea is to not wear pants. He called me to see about borrowing a kilt, but mine wouldn't fit him. I mentioned SWK's Thrifty and Economy models, and he wants one!
He also has a friend who is wearing a kilt to No Pants Fest, and he asked me to order him a sporran...
So it looks like I'm getting another kiltie started, and this weekend I'll be ordering either a Thrifty or an Economy for my brother, two of their economy sporrans, and a Black Watch heavyweight for myself!
Also, my brother wants a mini kilt/kilted skirt for his fiancee... Can any of you recommend a company that does off the rack mini kilts with ridicolously fast shipping?
This will make three people I've put in their first kilt this month!

Congrats, I guess this makes you an enabler to the addiction.

...and thus begins the addiction for two more people.

Ladies Kilt Mini
It looks like most of the ladies skirts are custom made.
I would send some e-mails to Rocky and Sport Kilt to see if they have any off-the-rack available.
Or, it looks like ScotWeb as some in the clearance section.
Otherwise it will take some time to have it custom made.

John, how are you doing with the heat up there????
You might look at EBAY and see if someone has a kilted skirt with a buy-now price and request overnight shipping. The search word "kilt" should produce results.
Stay cool!

Check out Thrift Stores. Here in Utah if I walk through the womens section of the Deseret Industries (Biggest Thrift Store Chain in Utah) I always see tartan, including a ladies kilted skirt complete with aprons and pleats. (BTW If they get a Men's Kilt in that is most likely where it will go as well.) You just may find enough raw material for your fiancée to work with.

When it comes to kilts, I'm the worst kind of enabler.

That's a great idea. I don't know why I didn't think of that.

I'll definitely check ebay and see what I can find.
The heat is bearable once you get used to it. I just try to stay hydrated, stay out of the sun, and do as little as possible.
The projected high for today is 116... We ususally don't get temps that high until August. I'm not looking forward to going outside today.

Ebay is a great place to look for womens kilt skirts, but also, SportKilt has lots in stock.
