    Birddog,

I have knee high Catskill Mountain Mocs that I wear a lot with my kilts and have gotten nothing but compliments. I think the look is good and even though they are "ren faire" style boots, for the money I paid, I don't restrict my wear of them to only the ren faire. To me, they look fine. (I'm wearing them in my avatar picture). The other examples shown I think are fine. Although those New Zealand boots do look awfully toasty for winter. Wonder if I can get those in the budget. Anyway, if you wear like its your regular clothing, no one will think otherwise.
If they outlaw guns, can we go back to using swords?

I wear kilts all the time, matter of fact the only time I don't is if it's pouring rain ( I have to get a new inverness coat ) and I've never given much thought to footwear. I've worn polished combat boots, brogues, sneakers, moccasins, and sandals... I figure that as long as I'm comfy then I really don't care about being "stylish"LOL

Yeah, I have the same Minnetonka Moccasin boots that a few other people have mentioned. I love wearing them with my kilt, it's one of my most comfortable outfits. I've even marched in it during a band practice. I don't wear those boots with my kilt very often though, most of the time I wear hiking books or sandals.

Just thought I would add one more picture to this topic.

I also have a pair of the tall Minnetonka Moccasin boots .
I wear them a lot in the winter with a pair of knee high
thick wool socks. This combo is VERY warm.

In the summer I only wear them when my legs need
protection from briars etc. In this case I wear ankle
high socks, and my legs stay quite cool. If it is really
hot, the leather gets wet from sweat and my legs
actually feel cooler than when wearing sneakers.
