After lunch at a pub in the next village, we went for a short stroll along a section of The South Downs Way on the hills above Storrington. [The South Downs Way is one of Britain's ancient routes, now designated a leisure trail, which runs along the top of The South Downs for 100 miles from Winchester, in Hampshire, to near Beachy Head at Eastbourne in East Sussex. Storrington is approximately half-way along the Way.]. This time Tri was unable to join us, or he got left behind, and so the camera was passed among us to record this historic 'Walking of the Way':

Jim, Steve and Robin striding out purposefully along The Way.

Robin, Ham and Steve pause, facing into the breeze from the sea, with Storrington nestling amongst the trees at the foot of the hill behind them.

Jim, Robin, Steve and Ham at The Chantry Post, marking the meeting point of several footpaths and bridleways on The South Downs Way above Storrington.

Then it was back to The Grange for tea. Steve and Jim involved themselves intently with vital computer work (you will soon be able to see the fruits of Steve's labours as he is constructing a fine website and new photo gallery for me), whilst I gave Robin a lightening tour of The Kilt Kollection (Robin, in our haste we missed a short garment rail, so you will have to return soon to see the kilts it holds!!). Robin had to leave us all too early, but it was so good to spend those few hours together.

Now I must spend a lot of time in getting that photo gallery together!

Thanks to three great friends for making that Saturday a memorable one.

Take care,
Ham.
