The Demonstration Team for my Scottish Country Dance Class (San Jose Class) of the RSCDS. They did a wonderful job of performing a montage of three different dances. I aspire to try out for the team next year.
After the demonstration they invited members of the audience to join them. I was more than happy to get a dance in with my wee little girl.
Me and a member of the Los Gatos / Monte Sereno Pipe and Drum band.
My daughter Xena and a charming friend from her SCD Class
We are fortunate that a few of our class members are also members of the Red Thistle Dancers demonstration team. They gave a great show with three different medley dances and then had a highland dancer perform between these sets to illustrate the differences between the two.
(For those interested information about Scottish Country Dance check out the RSCDS website, there are classes available worldwide)
X Marker Piper George and the Santa Cruz Pipe and Drums Band. George was not only playing with his band but also rushing off to perform in the solo competions.
X Marker AndrewLenzJr was there taking pictures of his band (he is still out with hand injury)

Though the afternoon was still hot, the breeze and clouds made the afternoon bearable. Wonder of wonders it actually rained for a few minutes to the amazement of the crowd.
It was still hot though so Kent and I used the tried and true method of using wet bandanas around the neck to cool us off.
Obviously I have been a bad influence on Kent
A while back Alan had posted about looking for the perfect nautical looking kilt pin. I am happy to say he did find one:
Enjoy the picture as Alan promptly lost the pin during the day
(Alan you are a member of XMTS! You put a piece of rubberband on the backside to keep from losing it! )
Assembled X Markers and a friend
Monkey@arms and Michael Steinrok get all Colonial
March of the MacNaughtons! We made sure to be there to cheer on our friends and hosts. Watch that sword Alan!

Reason: grammar
Khaki Shirts seemed to be the style for the Nor Cal Rabble as evidenced by Kiltimabar, Walkerk, myself, and Farlander
What boy (or boy-at-heart) doesn't love a cannon!
There are some pictures from the BBQ afterwards to come. But first I think will wait for some of Kent's (and maybe a few others pictures of the Games itself).
Cheers
