I just won it on E-Bay
Some of you may remember that among the many, many things that were in my truck that was stolen was a very nice sterling silver USMC Clan hat badge (It was pinned to a very well broken in balmoral which I also still miss!)
Anyway - I finally found one on E-Bay, and my luck held, and I won it.
Congratulations to me!!!!!
The one that I got on E-Bay
The one that was stolen.

good news Jay, and wouldn't it be wild if it is the same one you got stolen?
had that happen to me, not a crest of course, but a laptop.
the idiot placed pictures of it closed, open and a shot of the battery to show it was the 'original' battery.
well, he didnt know that the battery label I had notched in one corner, so I recognized it right off.
checked the location of the seller, call the police and well...turns out this guy was a serial seller of stolen property, it even made it in our local news some months ago.
anyway I digress, good deal getting that crest, it is a beauty!

I'll check for sure - mine had my USMC serial number on it... Now they use the Social Security Number, but I'll never forget my original number.
I have the habit of marking most of my stuff. I found a stolen bicycle pump at a swap meet that way, and a lost 5 iron showed up at a used sports gear store. I had left it on the golf course a couple of years before. I sure hope that it isn't my original...... but you never know!

Great Job, Jay!!
I remembered you were looking for one and I thought I saw one recently but I checked back on your prior thread and it was different.
You didn't ask the seller if he also had a well broken in balmoral for sale as well, did you?
My wife hates it when I say, "look what I won on e-bay".
She feels if we are still paying for it - that is not a "win".
She fails to see the competitive nature of the bidding process.

Well done! We outfitted a Marine in a Leatherneck kilt a few years ago. He looked awesome!
Now if someone would try to sell the two cameras that got stolen from my home in February (he already tried at the pawn shop, but they wouldn't take them). The cops still haven't caught the guy even though they have his photo trying to pawn the stuff!
