    The doorknockers do indeed come in sizes close to 9in in diameter. but I think that makes them gateknockers. A bit ungainly to wear on my waist... maybe as a chestplate. LOL

    I'd be interested to see a picture of your buckle.

    Brazing is closer to soldering than welding. I've fallen a bit behind on this project, but I promise I'll put up a pic once it's done. Thanks for all the input!
