Cammie X-Kilt #1
Okay, so after starting it last Friday, and with about 10 total hours into this thing, it's complete. It's messy in the spots you can't see...but it's complete. Thank Alan for putting together the manual. It's easy, and after a few more, I'll have it down really good.
I will say that I cheated and machine sewed the waistband, and I'll never do that again, and I didn't shape the fell very well, as it's a little bigger than it should be, but it's wearable. I have enough fabric left over to make a second one and my brother wants me to make one for him.

GREAT job! Well done, mate. I'm getting a chuckle out of how you almost got the same bit of the camo pattern on every other pleat...

I like it.
The next camo ones I do are going to be the same as that.
A buddy of mine and his twin brother have both done tours in Iraq.
That is the camo they wore over there so I am making one for each of them.
Of course I will make myself one as well, because...well, just because I can.

I thought that was pretty ironic, too, that they ended up repeating a pattern on the pleats.
After wearing it a bit last night, I've decided that I'll partially sew down the inner pleats tonight and then it's some belt loops and I'm done. Well, until I start on my brothers. But I've already thought of ways to improve my technique. And then it's onto a black one.

I sewed my waistband down with the machine originally. I didn't like it so I redid it by hand. It goes quick once you get started.
Definitely do the inner pleats. It takes so little time and I think does a lot for the Xkilt.
Good job man!

Okay, it's all done. Pleats sewn down and belt loops on. And I bought the material for the black one so I can get started right away after I finish my brother's kilt.

That kilt looks nice, wish I had the time to do one.
