Good on ya, Yojimbo!
I had to wait until I was 40 years old before I had enough spare cash for a kilt, and that as part of my divorce settlement at the time. But, I've never looked back from getting my Hunting Fraser tartan. I've even convinced my stepson to get a McDonald one as he's a Howe (sept) by birth. My wife (now) has just got a kilted skirt in Ancient Dress Fraser colours for her brother's wedding in the Czech Republic in August.
You'll not regret it.
