Thanks for all the encouragement guys. I'm excited. I'll get pics as soon as it gets here of me and my boy. I just found out that my brother has a SWK in Irish Nat already. I had misunderstood when I asked him what kilts he had, so now the three of us will have to take a group pic too.

I am now the proud owner of an Irish National Standard SWK. It was a bit of a tangle to get it, but it was figured out easily. The magical sparrows indeed get my order here in incredible haste, however my sizing was apparently not correct. I ordered according to my waist, and it was too big. I didn't really have the disposable income to order another then return this one, so I had to do it the long way, but with the nearly mythic shipping time, overall I am very excited and pleased as is my kiddo who loves his and his fits great.
There is one caveat however. I was blessed with extra gravity, but cursed with short legs . I knew SWK's were a bit longer than I needed going in, but I thought I remembered reading here somewhere that it was easy to hem these kilts. Alas, now I cannot find that thread. Could someone help by linking to that thread, or even explaining the process. Then further along those lines, is there a master thread regarding modification of SWK's specifically? Thanks in advance folks.

Found something on altering
Oh brother of mine here is some info I found while sitting bored at work. It's from the SWK website, I thought I'd post it here since others might have the same question. And, oh yeah, did I mention I was bored? I should have.....
Length* on all Standard, Economy & Heavyweight kilts is 24". Our kilts are usually worn traditional-style, higher on the waist (about an inch above the navel, usually), not low on the hips. Some length adjustment is obtained by wearing the kilt higher or lower on the waist. These kilts are easily hemmed to any desired length, and hemming is essentially undetectable if done correctly (with a machine-sewn blind hem stitch). Only on the heaviest weights of kilt fabric does a hem become visible because of the thickness, and on lighter-weight kilts a hem can add weight to the bottom edge, making the fabric hang even better, behaving like a heavier-weight fabric. We strongly advise against cutting a kilt to shorten it. We do not offer hemming service at this time, this is best done by any local tailor/seamstress.
