Just to be contrary (OK this really is my opinion), I'm gonna go the exact opposite of Ron (who loves you Ron).
While I wear kilts 99% of the time, I am usually not at a desk much. However, over the months of April and May I took a temp job that kept me sitting at a computer 8 hours a day, six days a week.
In terms of comfort while sitting all day the kilts rank as follows
1. Stillwater standard
2. USA semi trad
3. UK corduroy (this was the wide wale test run they did, I don't know if their current ones are as comfy)
4. UK Denim
5. UK originals/Union Kilt denim
6. 16 oz 5 yd wool
7. UK Survival
8. 16 oz Tank
9. UK workman, Rkilt
After about 3 weeks I started only wearing 1-4 (and I am about to do another 2 weeks for the company so will probably order another SWK in the next week or so).
As for pleats, I haven't had any problem with any of them other than the workmans kilts (they do not like to be sat in that long).
