I tend to find that Arygles are cut narrow in the waist, which is a result of the tapered look that you're supposed to get. A relic of military tailoring. If you, like me, don't taper there, then the jacket won't button.

Also, I've found that they're cut too tight in the upper sleeve for me.

In the end, I ordered a made-to-measure from Rocky, and I'm very happy with it.

I have a 50-in chest and a 50-in gut to match plus broad shoulders. I ordered a 52R off the rack from J. Higgins and traded it back for a 54R. I've had similar problems with my last 2 kilts running small. Consider adding 2 inches to your measurements or trying on the jacket in person. If you're going to buy the vest, you might as well buy a Prince Charlie: the price gap isn't that big. Also: how low do you wear your kilt? I need to trade my 54 Regular in for a 54 Tall to hide the gap between my jacket and my kilt. Since you'll only be wearing the jacket maybe a dozen times a year, imagine how it will fit after a decade or two and give yourself room to grow.
