Side note, I have seen pics of Alan Cummings in the (failed) levi's attempt at a kilt. I'd love to find one of those.

The show was ok. I wouldn't say "run out this is a must see" but if you can score a cheap ticket - sure.

Alan does make his entrance by being lowered down on to the stage upside down while wearing the kilt. Of course, as you saw in the photos, it is over his head and the appearance is that he is regimental. Not by choice, my seats were on the far right side in the audience and I could see a side view of Alan - he was not regimental (not that it really matters) but since the publicity photos show his bare *** - you might figure they are trying to lure the audience in with the "what does someone wear under the kilt" attitude.

Several times during the show Alan was seated on stage and many times when he danced the moves would have revealed what was under his kilt too so that may be why they went for the conservative thong (back) speedo type front pouch. Telling you the moves were that revealing that you could see.

As for the show itself - it was a Greek tragedy with music. If you've never been to one - at least give it a shot along with an opera, ballet etc - just to say you went and experienced it. Then you can really say you do or don't like it. Sort of a good answer for people who ask why we like wearing kilts! Try it yourself once and then say you don't like it!

I did like the music that was woven in to make this contemporary. The female dance numbers were enjoyable. The second half of the show was very rivoting expecially when the mother was walking around the stage with her son's head but ironically asking where he was (she was crazy and didn't realize that she had killed him).

I did wear my kilt to the show. I got plenty of looks and even one older woman who asked if I was in "uniform".
