I am reading this from the office. I do know that they log everything I type and no doubt read it, (although they could find better things to do with their time.)

Well, that's up in the air. I just work there. Been there from the start and still "just work there..." it'll always be that way. I'll be out of there soon enough.

I've been at jobs where I've "just worked there." Not a good place to be, unless it offers you the freedom to work on what you love.
I had a similar experience with a Scotsman, who was kilted. He called my UK a F ING SHAMMY! He seemed personally insulted that I wore it and dared to call it a kilt.
Everyone's got an opinion, and everyone thinks theirs is right.
