Chicago Kilt Night #2 on July 26th 2008
Hey guys, I'm just following up on my post in another thread. I'll be in Chicago this month and wondered if any of you were interested in meeting up with me and the soon to be wife? int:
As I mentioned previously I'll be in Chicago for a while but won't be able to wear my kilt until after my wedding (the 19th), we're also heading to DC on honeymoon for almost a week which means free nights are a little thin on the ground.
So would any of you guys be able to meet up on Friday 25th or Saturday 26th of July? If these dates aren't convenient or a weekday would be better get back to me and I will see if she-who-should-be-obeyed can juggle things.
I've no ideas on where to go so could I leave that to the consensus? Here's hoping we see a few of you soon!

I can do either. Duke of Perth seems to be the meeting place of choice.

I can also do either. Let's settle on a date so we can promote it. We may also have a gathering the week before since Retro Red will be in town the 13th through the 19th.

While I could, by no stretch of the imagination, be considered a Cubs fan, I would cite the words of the great Ernie Banks:
Let's play two!
After I left the Duke of Perth last time, I walked back downtown down Clark Street and noted several more Cletic-ly themed bars on the way. Has the makings of a severely kilted pub crawl, if you ask me...

I like your thinking. I think a Kilted Saturday night pub crawl would be good...any consensus, complications, compromises, or conflicts?

Count me provisionally
I'll need to check with Mrs. Coder (who will probably say that 2 pub craws per month will be my absolute limit), but otherwise I don't expect any problems.
I'll post back as soon as permission is received (or denied) and let you all know.

Hi guys that's me in Chicago! Good flights etc, apart from some lost baggage but I've got that back now. Saturday is great if that's best for you guys. How very exciting.

All that appears to be left is to set at time. Then we can send out a PM blast to all the Chicago Kilties in the "Social Group"

MacTavish, if you like single malt whisky, the DofP has an amazing selection for a bar in the US - here's the whisky menu http://www.dukeofperth.com/malt.htm
