In that case, I'm not sure the survival is worth the extra cost. I only bought mine because it was on the sale list - the list price is quite high. I love my UK original too, and I suspect that an original would fit your requirements well.

Get the Original. The poly/cotton doesn't wrinkle as bad as the survival. I also have both, but I really don't like the Survival that much because I don't like the long pockets banging into my ..um ...****. I don't think the Survival has more material other than the extra pockets.

B.T.W. the Standard had a zipper.

I had a Survival. It was Basil (Sage) and I really did like it, but found that I preferred to wear it without the cargo pockets, and never use the back pockets...This is basically a Mocker, so I sold my Survival and now own 4 Mockers and 1 Original.

I have a green Mocker, dated perhaps 2006/2007 and a grey 2008 Mocker. I notice that the material for the 2006/2007 Mocker is softer and less wrinkle prone than the new grey one. Both ahve the waist snaps.
Has anyone noticed any difference in the Mocker materal between a couple of years ago and the present issue? Also I appear 10 lbs lighter in teh green Mocker than in the grey one. (Wear a 36" waist X 21 length).

I have one of each, and I like them both. For any weather other than 90 degrees, I like my Survival; when it's hot, however, the lighter Standard is more comfortable. I agree that the Survival is definitely worth the exttra dough. Love them pocketses!!

I've a tan Mocker (dated from 2005 or so...before they had waist snaps) and more recent (2007-8) Heather Gray, Black and Olive Mockers.

The Heather Gray is my softest kilt with an almost "brushed denim" feel, the other three have the heavier standard poly-cotton feel that my 80s era USArmy BDUs had. My first (2003) neo-traditional Black Original is like the Black, Olive and Tan Mockers.

If you dig the cargo pockets but are like me and really like the slash front pockets too, the Survivals are the way to go. As mentioned, I prefer a sporran to cargo pockets, so the Mockers make more sense for me.
