I go kilted everywhere. That includes Punk Concerts. I am an old f**t and stay on the ground, even when in/near the pit. The kilt is really a nice conversation opener, and many young men and women want to be in a picture with me. Tonight DKM is playing in Lowell, Massachusetts. I stayed home and gave my two tickets to a family friends son and his date, as they rarely get in town and even more rarely get to a DKM concert. They have texted me through out the concert with the activity. I kitted him up with concert T, kilt, Heavy duty belt, punked out sporran, and DKM pin as a kilt pin. Meanest of Times sgian dont, he regularly wears 16" work boots. I hope they bring back pictures.

I've gone to a couple shows dressed like this...

I think jump boots look pretty good with a kilt.

Yeah I plan to go see Flatfoot on the 9th of August (hopefully) and if I go I'm going kilted. They're playing a large show with many other bands I like so I'm hoping to get there.

I was the only guy in a kilt at the Billy Joel concert in Des Moines a while back, does that count ? It was fun. My wife wasn't altogether sure about all the attention I got from other women, however.

I don't remember any crowd surfing by anyone at that concert. To open an area everyone wasn't bunched up enough to do it. But there was a couple people carried out of the concert, don't know if it was the mosh pit or the beer.Lol

I would like to politely disagree. While it isn't my style, I think if it is something that fits your own personal style, I say yes good for you. This may be the only way someone will ever consider wearing a kilt, and I definitely support/encourage their freedom to choose. I might also show them some other kilt options that are available.

If you're going to metal shows... it's gotta be black!
Black kilt (most likely a utilikilt and the like)
band t-shirt
scrunch down the socks if you're wearing shoes or just wear boots
boots have to be a dark color, steel toed or combat
spikes and studs
Optional:
Black denim vest or jacket covered in patches and studs
face paint (either woad or corpse)
Another tip of advice, don't let anyone tell what you can or cannot wear to a rock show, it's rock n roll not a fasion show. Dress like you want, but make it functional.
