I was asked this just this Saturday wore my SWK Irish National to a meeting and the chairman asked why? I told him it was Saturday, I did not have to wear that greasy uniform so I decided to go comfortable. (for those who dont know I am also a lube technician as well as a pastor.)

The first time I wore my Kilt to work, I hear a guy from behind me ask; "Did you lose a bet?"

Answer; "No, the other guy did. He has to wear PANTS today."

August 9th is Singapore's Day of Independence, and the National Day Parade rehearsal was taking place over the weekend. The annual celebration is known for large elaborate shows and fancy costumes. I was out with my girlfriend in my camouflage kilt, made from the same fabric of our armed forces and bearing my old formation's badge when a man asked if I was participating in the Parade. :-\
I was tired and didn't have a witty reply handy, so I just said "No." and just shrugged and smiled when he suggested that I might be in violation of some uniform code.

What is your favorite response to people asking "What's the occasion?"
"Why, I'm piping a <insert special event or ceremony here>. Here's my card."

I did have someone ask; "Is it St. Patrick's Day or something?"
    In August.

It's funny but when you are actually kilted at an occasion nobody asks then!
