    Jerry made a lil oops

    But i really don't mind

I had being seeing so many others ordering the thriftys at SWK i thought "What the heck, for 28 bucks why not".
Sooo,i decided on a Black Stewart and ordered one but they sent a Wallace.
Im not to much on bright colors but i sort of liked this one,so i decided to keep it and save Jerry the cost on shipping another kilt that only cost 28 bucks.
    So all is forgiven.

I removed the basting stiches and my wife did a good job of sewing down the pleats eight inches.
She is also going to add a black leather strap for me on each side and its turning out pretty nice.
Its a lot lighter than a standard and thats great for this hot weather.
Would not be ashamed to wear it anywhere.

So what im pretty much saying is that if anyone wants a kilt just to knock around in,and you dont want to spend a lot ,you can't go wrong with an SWK thrifty.

Thanks Jerry and keep em coming.

I found that it is a much nicer kilt and as you said if you have some one, or in my case Me to sew down the pleats it makes a much nicer kilt. Just wish it had a reverse pleat like the Sports Kilts but the $28 makes the difference for knockabout.

Thrifty or not, you know Jerry would have replaced it for you.

Kudos to your sense of proportion and just enjoying the Wallace.

    Cheers

No doubt in mind mind that he sure would Jamie.Thats Jerry.

But i'm thinking of ordering a Black Stewart again..
That would give me two just to wear casual for shopping, runnning to the store,Etc.
Have a couple of AKs for same purpose, but i sort of favor the Tartan.
Can save my best kilts for special occasions.

I ordered a SWK Thrifty Black Stewart on Monday and I received Thursday.

As mentioned it is lighter than all others, not sewn on the fell, no belt loops, no reverse pleat, no lining and no straps.

Well I've spent thursday night hand stitching a full body lining (it was $0.99/yard sale at hancock's), down the fell and the belt loops.

Amazing the difference the lining makes, whereas the aprons barely moved stuck to my legs, now with the 'no catch' lining the thing just floats.

Today I'm working on the leather straps and on 'weighing' the pleats a little bit by adding a button sewn on the inside so it will sway better.

As mentioned, for a $28 initial setup, plus maybe $15 in additional items, you end up with a perfectly fine kilt.

Funny you mentioned the liner. My wifes working on that now.

If i keep asking her to add things, shes going to charge me enough labor that i could have ordered a standard.
