    Thanks herminator!

(Thanks again for the warm welcomes from you all! )

Herminator: You lived in Elsternwick in the 70's? wow - you wouldn't recognise the place now - well, you would, but it's getting rather upmarket now a days!

I'm living near Caulfield Racecourse at the moment.

    Hi Raptor!

You're Bayside? I'm living near Caulfield. - pleased to meet another Melbournian! (ok, so I'm actually an interstate immigrant from Sydney via Perth, but Melbourne is my home now).

Maybe we should organise a meet at some stage. Is there any others in shouting distance that you know of?

    Heya Jack Daw,

I'm working on it! Purchased some material on the weekend, printed out the x-kilt manual today, organised to spend next weekend with a lady friend who has a sewing machine... ;) Will see how much I can get done given I'm a noob at sewing. I'll take a camera and see if I can't document what I do get done.

I'm sure you have thrift stores in Aussie land. That is where I got my first machine a old simple zigzag Singer. That one could sew thin leather.

    Welcome from Fort Worth, Texas!

I have a good friend from Melbourne, so I figured I'd best stop by this thread and say hi.
