I don't wear a kilt every day but in cool weather I pretty much do wear a hat whenever I leave the house. Thanks to two recent purchases come fall I'll be wearing a Balmoral with XMarks Clan Badge on a very regular basis.
I say go for it.

Glengarries and Balmorals are stylish hats in of themeslves.
I do reckomend wearing them with a bit of a jaunty tilt though.
