    Welcome aboard!

If you have a sewing machine and the inclination, and your kid wants a modern style kilt (denim or camo, cargo pockets) vs. a tartan plaid fabric, check the DIY thread -- at the top is a thread about the X-Kilt, a "make it in a weekend for less than $50" starter kilt that many members here have sewn up with great success.

You can do a search on XKilt or X-Kilt to see the results and stories of how guys who never touched a sewing machine before have made their own kilts -- could be a great project for you and your son to cooperate on!

You're going to hear this sentiment echoed a lot here. Stillwaters are excellent knock around kilts. and a good price. USA Kilts are... well... beautiful! $250 for a work of art like a USAK is excellent. It may seem a little pricey, but just wait until you see the things!
