Welcome from down the road in San Antonio. I'm assuming you went to Things Celtic. The ladies there have been very friendly and helpful the few times I've been there.

Hello and a warm Celtic from Boston, Massachusetts. You do not need a drop of Scot blood to wear the kilt. Check out USA Kilts semi-traditional kilts page. the Tartans with the ** are ones designed for all to wear. The other tartans can still be worn by anyone. Some people prefer to not wear a Clan tartan that is not theirs, and that is fine as well. Just for example my avatar is me fresh home from church wearing my Stillwater Kilts standard in the Irish National Tartan. Since everyone is Irish on St Paddys day, everyone can where the Irish tartan as well.
