I'm not voting since I have my wool X Marks tartan kilt and an X Marks vest already.

I am happy to E Mail (only) photos of my collection of pics of X Marks kilts if anyone wants to see the many things that can be done with them...or maybe it would be easier if someone with more techie skills than I can locate and link to that old thread where we posted X Marks kilt pics....at least I think there was one.

    Ron,

Perhaps we need a new one. Or open a new group in the Gallery?

    Cheers

reading a lot of the threads on what kilt most folk would like to have, a heavyweight wool kilt is a common answer, so looking at the poll votes, i'm surprised to see that the Poly/Viscous is well in the lead.

maybe the price is the answer or already got it in wool ?

I think you have hit on the answer.

FYI: The last three runs were wool which might also factor into it.

    Cheers

It is cheaper, less scratchy, more comfortable in hot weather, and to sit in for long periods of time, and can be washed easily. While I would never mistake my PVs for a tank, there are those of us that wear kilts daily, and it is a more attractive option than wool.

And also, if it comes from Marton Mills, they coat their fabric with teflon so it resists stains as well. I voted for it because I live in middle Georgia and while I still wear my tanks in the summer, having a lighter weight fabric would be great!

    Hey Jamie,

I'd thought the proposal for an X Marks tartan forum or album had been considered and turned down a while back....?

Would be a cool thing to have for sure. I've managed to collect pics of 29 different X Markers in their X Marks kilt...plus the famous Northern Cal group pic. Gotta be more out there. Many different kiltmakers have sewn up X Marks kilts too. Would give folks a place to compare looks and workmanship.
