    Kilt #9, Sinclair Hunting Modern

I just received my latest kilt (#9 since starting the addiction in Oct/07) a couple days ago.

It's a machine-sewn 8 yard 16 oz Sinclair Hunting Modern tartan from Scottishkilts.net, from their "Special Tartans sale" here:

    http://scottishkilts.net/products/st...ched_kilt.html

It doesn't specify which mill produced the cloth.

This is to honour my wifes side of the family, as she's a pure-blood Sinclair. She's tickled pink, and I wore it all yesterday to honour her late fathers birthday.

As many have pointed out in other threads about Scottishkilts.net, the quality is quite good, but don't expect ANY kind of communication from them other than confirming the order and then shipping notices. I tried to email them several times and use their on-line message service as I wanted to buy some extra material to send to Thorfinn Sporrans for a tartan flap. Not a single reply to any communication attempt... <sigh>

Oh well, I love the kilt anyway! Here's a couple piccies...

Like my Malcolm kilt, I'm getting some "flairing" on the apron as it's not tapered. This might be because of my measurements (40W, 41H). I wonder if pressing a taper into it will help the flair?

Very nice sir. Both the blue and the khaki work very well with that tartan.

Oh very nice! I think I have those same shoes... The black ones that is. Only mine got a horrible scratch or more like a tear on the front of it from VBS week.

A very nice kilt, and so well presented. You obviously have a good eye for colour, Chris.

    Take care,
    Ham.

    Lovely tartan,

That's the standard in our local pipe band.

    Cheers,

    Kevin.
