Featured Sponsor for August-Stillwater Kilts!
The owner and staff here at X Marks the Scot would like to offer our congratulations to our featured Sponsor of the Month of August…Stillwater Kilts!
http://www.stillwaterkilts.com/
Celebrating their 6th year in business, Stillwater Kilts owner Jerry Vecoli (better known here on XMTS as Sciuropterus) has specialized in providing sturdy and affordable options for the first-time kilt buyer.
Stillwater's kilts (SWK) are machine-sewn in Pakistan to SWK's specifications from either Acrylic or Wool. SWK usually offers about a dozen different options for tartans and solid colors at any given time. There are 4 different models available ranging from their acrylic Thrifty Kilts™ to their wool Heavyweight models, with prices ranging from $28.95 to $140.00. Their newest product line has been an affordable (and washable) range of children’s kilts and accessories. SWK proudly offers the Irish National Tartan™ in acrylic fabric but only does so under license from the House of Edgar woolen mills because that is the right thing.
Stillwater Kilts also sells a few essential accessories such as hose, flashes, belts, and sporrans, including the SWK designed exclusive “Nightstalker™” sporran (available in both Nylon and Leather) that updates the classic sporran with such modern conveniences such as zippers and compartments. It has become a very popular and well-reviewed product.
SWK’s promptness has led to rumors of almost supernatural shipping speed! SWK believes in good Customer Service and strive to answer inquiries quickly, fill orders promptly, and do their best to resolve any problems to the customer’s satisfaction.
One last thing to note is SWK’s integrity. Jerry stands by his products for what they are and does not try to pass them off as something they aren’t.
Jerry and Stillwater Kilts are to be congratulated for promoting kilt wearing. Many of us here got our first traditional-looking kilt from SWK which gave us the confidence to order our first traditional hand made kilt, and for many of us our Stillwater kilts are often worn where we wouldn’t dare take our traditionaly made kilts.
Take a moment to peruse the Stillwater Kilt website and congratulate Jerry and Stillwater Kilts, our X Marks the Scot featured Sponsor for August!

Congratulations Jerry!
Well deserved in my opinion.
I have always tempered my killing with respect for the game pursued. I see the animal not only as a target but as a living creature with more freedom than I will ever have. I take that life if I can, with regret as well as joy, and with the sure knowledge that nature's ways of fang and claw or exposure and starvation are a far crueler fate than I bestow. - Fred Bear

Woo Hoo! Yet another fine sponsor of our site and one I use frequently!
"A veteran, whether active duty, retired, national guard or reserve, is someone who, at one point in his life, wrote a blank check made payable to "The United States of America", for an amount of "up to and including my life." That is honor, and there are way too many people in this country who no longer understand it." anon

Well, I am truly honored, especially coming from the fine folks at XMTS.
I have enjoyed meeting many of you both online and in-person. I sincerely appreciate the support of the XMTS crowd over the years, it means a lot.
SWK has a busy year ahead, hopefully we will be seeing some new items before the end of the year. As always, if you have any questions or want to talk to us about anything SWK, don't hesitate to call or e-mail us directly.
SWK will be closing for 10 days in early September, any orders placed during that time will not ship until we get back. I am going to be hanging out in Hawaii (Kauai) with my family during that time and temporarily trading my kilt for a sarong. I will post the specific dates on the SWK website shortly. It will be the first real vacation we have taken in four years and I am really looking forward to it.
Enjoy some tacky vintage SWK ads, from our pre-internet days:

If you folks haven't gotcha a Nightstalker sporran (leather's the best) get you one. Never had a sporran better organized for todays world.
Hope you enjoy Hawaii Jerry, just back from my first trip, but was Maui. Check out Maui Celtic's website... www.mauiceltic.com before you go over. They seem to have a great mix of things Hawaiian mixed with things Scottish...t shirts, jewelry stuff.

On a Personal Note
I and my family have been Stillwater Kilt customers for the last couple of years. I personally own and wear 5 of his kilts. I appreciate the quality of Jerry's merchandise and the consistent speedy and high level of Customer Service at Stillwater Kilts.
So from here in San Jose California
Cheers

I tried to ask my inner curmudgeon before posting, but he sprayed me with the garden hose…

Congrats! I just got a kid's kilt for my son and am impressed with the quality even in children's wear. I'll definately be ordering a SWK kilt for myself soon! Chris

Are they still being sold? I haven't seen one available in the SWK shop.
