Really, the only reservation I would have with your outfit is the sgian dubh in the hose. Are you allowed to wear weapons at work?

(hehe... that thought made me chuckle to myself for a good 30 seconds, so I had to share it.)

Looks pretty good to me. We did a staff ride to the TX Ranger Museum in Waco and the Commander authorized civilian attire. I wore my SWK Black Watch, an orange shirt, and scrunched down hose with hiking shoes. I was still the best turned out I think. A month ago, we had a change of command for the Region (medical units are set up different) and the outgoing Commander wanted to know why I didn't show up in a kilt. As long as the Commander approves I could care less what others at work think. What is the badge in the middle? I'm having trouble making it out.

    Tony

Thanks for all the positive comments. It's really encouraging, and just reinforces my determination to continue kilted casual Fridays. The badges, for those who want to know, are from bottom to top, the Army Drill Sergeant badge, the Combat Action Badge, and the MacGregor Clan Badge that I wore under my body armor. They're all heavy (esp the drill badge) and I got several compliments on those alone. Again, thanks for all the support. Another great reason to belong to the rabble.

Looks good! That womans statement is pretty sad....the US Armed Forces are pretty diverse, you would think she would be so ignorant.

Congrats on wearing your kilt to work. Nice outfit, I would push the sgian further down into the hose, if you wanted a traditional look.

    Best regards,

Very nicely turned out look!!!! Having served in the Army myself, I can understand why some people just flat out refuse to look at or try anything new. I wish that I could wear my kilt to my day job, but I'm a butcher and health codes won't allow it... But at night when I DJ... Different story....

Excellent! Looking good. I agree that after you wear your kilt a few more times most comments will cease (exept for the positive ones of course).
