Ya, it does seem like I hear a lot about the Highland games having venders selling hose and stuff at really good prices... They moved the games over to the other side of the valley from me, but I'll have to try to get out there next year.
I do have a couple of gray knee high socks with a bit of a cable patern and a red band at the top. They're not hose, but they work all right for casual I guess. I think I will get a pair of charcoal gray hose, and a regular gray at some point.
I tried to ask my inner curmudgeon before posting, but he sprayed me with the garden hose…

I have 3 pairs of kilt hose. 1 pair in white for formal to show off the Ghillie laces, 1 pair in burgundy/wine for casual, and 1 pair in bottle green also for casual as there is deep and deep green in my tartan. Since there is also some black running through the checkes of the tartan, I would like to get some balack socks. I thing red and green diced hose or the hose tops would look good with my kilt.
As has been pointed out before on this forum, look in the mirror and go with what you like best.

My stance has not changed since I last posted. I will, however, be searching for deals at the Central NY Scottish Games this weekend.

Indeed sir, I agree with you and well spoken. To each his own. Personally I think white/cream hose are dreadful on men in kilts. I only add my opinion here in case someone is viewing for opinions and weighing options.
On ladies? Another matter entirely. Slainte,

It's OK, Allan. I regret every post I made in this thread, too... Including this post.
