    Our table

    My bannerman Rent and I

This is Chief Hannay of the Clan Hannay. He is one of the organizers of the big Edinburgh 2009 clan gathering. He stopped by each of the clan tables to say hello and hand out invitations. It was neat to meet him because he is in a piping trio that consists of my Clan chief. Very nice Scottish gentleman.

Here he is getting ready to lead the Clan parade around the grandstand:

The Famous Grouse Scotch company was doing a taste test at the games. If you could tell their scotch from your favourite you won a hat. Guess who can tell her Scotches apart!! So could my buddy Rent .

Then at the very end of the day on Saturday, the heavens opened up and the deluge came down.

Pipers had to come in from the rain and practice in our barn

It was yet another great games. Because I was in the clan barns I did not get to see the pipe competition (though it was postponed due to the rain for awhile) and we had to leave before the 64 band mass band. I think these pictures cover maybe a ¼ of what was happening. And I do have very blurry pictures of the largest beer garden I have ever been in..I wonder how that happened.
As an aside I did not see one pirate or ren fair person.
    Thanks for looking,
    Sara

It seems here in Canada, at least in my part of Ontario, we have a lot of Scottish place names. Mainly because of the many Scot that settled here after immigrating. I actually did this on day, I took a map of Ontario and a map of Scotland and highlighted all of the place names that were similar. The map was pretty marked up after words.
Thanks again for all of the kind words about the pictures,
    Sara
