Kilt friendly town.
I live in what seems to be a very kilt friendly town. Every time I am out and about in Bellingham, Washington I get comments about how good it looks for me to be wearing a kilt.

You say? When I passed through Bellingham late last year in my UK, I got a lot of incredulous stares. I thought being so close to the Cradle of the Utilikilt, it would have gotten no reaction at all. I must have been in the wrong part of town.
Regards,
Rex.
At any moment you must be prepared to give up who you are today for who you could become tomorrow.

Ha, ha! I assure you, if I were wearing a moustache where their gaze was fixed, I would completely understand.

Madison, Wisconsin is very kilt friendly also. Maybe we should have a kiltie exchange program!

I've just moved to bellingham, and I've worn my kilt out and about a few times. Nary a stare or negative comment! I would probably be reluctant to wear it in north bellingham- downtown and fairhaven seem to be a bit more progressive...

I wear mine to Wal-mart and even to a small nearby town called Everson, most of the time the most I get is a curious look.

Believe it our not--Motown is GREAT place to wear a kilt. Suburbs and city--however be ready to explain WHY while walking in the city. My wife's answer, "look at his LEGS!". In the suburbs, be prepared for all the guys who want to tell you how much THEY want to wear a kilt but .....blahblahblah.
However, BEST city so far in my opinion to go kilted--CHICAGO! Especially to pubs---can't think of a time where someone didn't send a pint over to me.
