Looks as if the end result will be less a PC than Brian Borou(sp?) but that is OK too. For formal occasions IMHO, everything from a Braemar with vest & formal shirt on up to a Sheffmiur are all OK .

Yes, Carolina Kiltman, that was my thought too. You know, I never realized how many people DIY until I came on here. Then I went and got out all my old videos of Scottish Country Dance balls and lo and behold suddenly noticed that lots of men were wearing slightly different styles of jackets, like a PC without tails. I am usually very observant (being female) but I never noticed at all. I suppose people don't think about what we're wearing as much as we ourselves do. They're too busy worrying if THEY look good.

Not a problem at all.
We won't be able to go this year, but we are hoping to make it next year.
We're doing Asilomar this year and, of course, the St. Andrews event in Boise I told you about. (And Diane has been doing various events and games around the Boise/Meridian/Caldwell area of Idaho.)
Next year we'll be trying to get out and about a lot and get Diane the first stage of her RSCDS teaching qualification.

Neeah613l, I think it looks like the jacket will work out very well. Not quite a PC but it certainly doesn't look like a Brian Boru either. Nice and formal, though!
