For accessories, I usually dress fairly casual but have a belt and sporran with a nice shirt. Sometimes wear hose up with flashes, and sometimes rolled or scrunched down over boots.
And where does the line form for the kilt checks?

I think polo's and t-shirts are always a favortite, but if you can re-do a sports coat into a kilt jacket for your friends you will be a big hit!
