One bro-in-law is already on board, must go snap up more camo material before it disappears from the remnants table!

Great job! Will Bob be wearing this on Sunday if you guys come up?

With lightweight material one option - if you have enough of it - is to make the kilt with double thickness. That gives you extra weight and body, and it also makes the cutting across the bolt not a problem by creating a neat edge at the bottom, so you don't need to hem, and the raw edges are both hidden in the waistband.

I have not done this with a kilt, but it was a useful option when making costumes which required expensive material there was no budget for in order to look authentic.

Ryan -- yes, that's the plan, you'll see it Sunday!

Anne -- this material wasn't so light that it needed doubling. And I'm just not sure your method would work well for X-kilting -- capturing both layers perfectly as you topstitch the folds would be a challenge, and if they aren't captured perfectly I think it could negatively affect pleat hang. You've suggested it several times in various threads -- I'd be interested in seeing actual results.

Excellent result, the digi camo looks good on the finished product.
