    I agree...with or withour is totally up to you.
    My question is, if you do decide on the vest, would you wear the belt or not?

    Waistcoat = no belt
    The reason is that the belt can cause the Waistcoat to jut out un-naturally.

    Depends on temperature. Three piece suits were intended for winter/cold weather wear. So a waist coat is a cold weather garment.

    I would refer you to this wiki article http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Waistcoat#History . I was never under the impression the waistcoat was reserved for cold weather. I had understood that the waistcoat declined in popularity as fasion became more informal.

    I think for me it breaks down into how hot it is, and if I'm wearing a tie. As a general rule for daywear, if its warm and the day does not call for a tie, I'll wear a colored shirt, (usally matching the hose) no vest.
    If it's a little cooler, at night, or more formal, I'd go with a white shirt, vest and colored tie.
