Ted that all depends on the style of jacket you are talking about, for day wear then the bone or regular buttons would be fine, in fact that is what you'll find on a day wear tweed jacket. for more formal or evening wear then you would expect the black barathea wool Argyll with silver buttons.

Thank you McMurdo. I had just been looking at a post in this thread talking about using two different styles of waistcoat in combination with two colors of jackets... I was trying to get all the buttons to add up.

I guess someone needs to invent interchangeable buttons.
