Just a thought, but wasn't there already a firefighter tartan?
Anyway, it's a pretty nice tartan. Thanks for designing it. The 3-4-3 design is great. The green and gold seems a bit strange to me. Yes, historically the Irish have been very involved in firefighting history, but if you look at the names of the FDNY members who perished on 9/11, you'll seem many ethnicities included.
If you're interseted in donating a percentage to charity consider MDA. The IAFF, and locals are very devoted to this cause, and I'm sure it'd be appreciated.

True . . but, it's to honor the history of the Fire Service (which includes it's beginnings) and those braves souls that serve in the ranks. Not to mention, to add a memorial to those 343 lives lost in 9/11.

As for a charity, I have one that I spend most of my time volunteering for . . Crusade for Children. Our Fire Department has been a big contributor for supplying members to help collect for the organization.

We've actually come to find out that there are actually several "firefighter" tartans... some for individual FF Pipe bands, and 1 for "firefighters" in general that is a copyrighted design by someone (that other companies have stolen shamelessly).
Kelly wasn't aware there were any other Firefighter tartans when she designed and registered hers... it was a completely original design she came up with and came from a very good place in her heart. We COPYRIGHTED the design to make sure no other companies steal it... this way we can make sure the FF Charity gets their fair percentage of the sales.
The reason we chose the Leary Foundation for our Firefighter charity (not to knock other FF charities... there are MANY great ones), is b/c of how much "preventative work" the Leary foundation does (training firefighters to avoid injury, upgrading their equipment, etc). Also, we already had a relationship with them when we donated a Casual to their silent auction in Boston a few years back.
Hope this clears things up!

Hey Rocky:
I sent you a picture of me in my FFM at the Fallen Firefighter Memorial.
I have not had any luck posting pictures on here.
Thanks again for a great kilt.

Thanks Rocky and Mark! Very nice!
I think the Leary Foundation for Firefighters is a great foundation to donate to.
My station raised quite a bit for MDA this year, and then again for a childrens burn camp here in GA. I just want to thank those who give to any FF related charity. It really makes a difference.
Maybe next year I can wear the FF Memorial Tartan Kilt to raise money!
