Is it OK to wear a dress tartan casually?

I'm not exactly sure that is what Riverkilt was talking about... But to be fair, formal events aren't a part of my life right now. I have two suits that would do for weddings or funerals, then a few sport jackets. I would rent a tuxedo if I needed to. At best I could pull together a daywear outfit for one of my kilts. I wouldn't go to a wedding or anything like that wering a kilt as it is now.

Other than that, most of my time is spent dealing with mud or compost... or both. No tuxcedo for that.
