Bored in Fresno!
Well, here I am, attending a week long seminar, and I am already bored to tears!
What with the hotel and transportation arranged by the host...I am pretty much stuck in my hotel with plenty of kilts and no place to go or other kilties to go out with.
It's going to be a long week!

Sacramento!? Thought you were going to Fresno. Have you made a trip to Old Town Sacramento and visited the California State Railroad Museum? If you're still bored, visit Fanny Ann's.

K street mall is cool. Also Sutter's Fort. There are lots of clubs and the like downtown, some good blues bars... one called Vega's in particular.
Where are you staying?

Fresno? Not much to do there, last I checked. Lot's of Nor-cal folks in the general area though... maybe they can help you.

I know the feeling. Had a couple of business trips this year. Both did not allow time for any social activity even if the opportunity presented itself. On the last trip to Michigan I did manage to wear the kilt to dinner one night I was free. Got the usual "is there a festival in town?".

I had a similar experience some years back. I was attending a conference in San Antonio. Because the conference was in the same hotel where I was staying, I was not authorized a rental car. After all, I didn't have to drive to get to the conference. And this was my first time in San Antonio.
Now, if the hotel had been downtown, that would have been okay because I could have walked places. But no, we were out by the airport, where we had mainly more hotels. I did walk to some local restaurants and the mall across the highway, but that was about it.
I finally managed to link up with some women from another post who did get a car. It was kind of nice riding around with the ladies, and I didn't even have a kilt yet.

Seems like you are underwhelmed. Maybe this will help: http://www.xmarksthescot.com/forum/a...160/index.html

Fresno is not terrible, just hot. I think there is an interesting "Old Town" and I remember a decent brewpub near the mall and the college??
Chin up.
