    college kilters

So, I just moved into college yesterday. first time really being away from home. I am at Ball State University. just wondering when you all think I should first show the kilt? first day of classes? tonight at a party? what?

I am also wondering if there are any muncie/ball state kilters on here. I would love to meet with you all. I have heard that there are a few.

Early on, go for it. Maybe not the first day, unless you want to specifically carve your niche as the kilt guy (which isn't a horrible thought).

If you run into a fellow named Holden Hill, avoid him like the plague. If you must speak to him, slap his face and tell him Kyle Cassidy sent you.

First day EVER of classes? I might wear jeans. (I know I'll take flack for this) I say get to know the professors and the ladies you're in class with for at least a day.

I wear mine all the time. That and my pith helmet (and my aloha shirts) have contributed to my unique look such that I am know on sight by any and all students at the University, even though I'm friends with only about 10 - 15 people.

Which makes it easy to disguise myself: so go about in pants and a polo shirt .

Maybe not the first day, but early enough so they don't think it's a Halloween costume

I agree. The only thing I'd like to add to this is, if you're planning on wearing a kilt full time, wear it on the first day. If you only plan on wearing it once in a while, then I would put it on when you are ready.

The only reason I can think of to not wear the kilt on day one is that you might want to find out if you have class where the extra attention is going to be a problem. I've had several teachers who have had a bad habit of picking on me whenever they want a volunteer.
