Disneyland in kilts
We just got back last night from our trip to Disneyland. Every time we go, I am reminded of why we only go every two years. Then, the memory fades, I get enthusiastic about it and we go again. Don't get me wrong, we had a GREAT time, but there is only so much Disney I can take!
Here we are on arrival (after getting up at 4 am, leaving home at 5 am and driving for 6 hours). We decided to do California Adventures first. Of course, I was taking the picture:
The children's favorite place to be was at the water play area in Bug's Land. Here we are surrounded by high tech, fun and fancy rides and they just wanted to play in the water!
Panache, being the fastidious creature that he is, despite wearing a completely soakable kilt, refused to join us in getting wet. I really wanted to get a picture of him standing directly over a jet of water, but he refused. I even offered him $100.00 to do it and this is the best he could do (note that our son, in the red shirt, was not nearly so shy about the water!:
Such a disapproving look!
Panache wore a kilt every day, but we chose our second day there to be the LOUD FAMILY. There were a lot of double-takes as we walked by.
The last day, we got our best "celebrity" shot out on "Pirate Island" (previously known as Tom Sawyer's Island). Unfortunately, this particular Captain Jack Sparrow was not quite as much fun as the one who played with our daughter for nearly 30 minutes when last we went to Disneyland. He liked Panache just fine though!
There are a ton more pictures, but I'll not bore you with any more.
It's good to be home!
Be well,

A good selection of photos. Where has the sense of adventure gone? Not standing directly over a jet of water indeed.

I have to say that matching family outfits rarely look as fun as those in the "Loud Family" pictures!

Great photos. No guts, no glory. Stand over the water fountain next time.

I understand perfectly. It's a fountain, not a bidet!
...this particular Captain Jack Sparrow...liked Panache just fine though!
Best laugh of the day! Thanks, Star!

Thanks for sharing the pics, especially Panache & the little squirt.
I know the reason I don't go to Dizz Knee Land too often is because the prices are sky high! 1-day Park Hopper ticket now costs $94.00!
Loved the photo of the "Loud Family" - brought to mind an interesting Bay-area band of the same name, which itself was named after the family in TV's first reality show. Search Wikipedia for "Loud Family" if none of that rings a bell.
Have you gotten the strains of "It's a Small World" out of your head yet?

The Loud Family was a Saturday Night Live skit wasn't it?
Luckily, Small World was CLOSED when we were there. Apparently, they have to change the boats, or the canal in order to accommodate the expanding American physique!
Be well,

Awesome pictures! You look like you had a great time!
My family and I went to Disney World and Universal in late January and went kilted several days. Great time. It was really fun walking through Epcot...

The Loud Family were the subjects of TV's first reality show, a 12 episode series shown on PBS in 1973. Caused a bit of controversy due to their 20-year old gay son (first openly gay person in an American TV show) & the fact the in the course of the series the wife asked her husband for a divorce on camera.
