Oh no, I didn't just bring my UK... I brought an Irish national and Black Watch traditional, with all the fixins for a good casual outfit.

I'm also a piper and president of the Celtic Students Union, so me wearing a kilt surprises nobody. Also, Beloit College is only 1,300 students (maximum) so everybody knows everybody. I don't know what it would be like at a school of 20,000, but stand proud, as you already have been.

You'll be fine, and be sure to have a great time!

well I wore it out to lunch and got lots of complements. I was surprised. people seem a bit more open to it here.

Wear it when you feel comfortable enough to do so. Before long, you'll see whom all the other kilters are, anyway. Then, organize a party.

I'm GSU's resident kiltie. Never had a problem with it. People seem to love it... but since I'm down to only one kilt (which is rapidly getting too big), I won't be kilted as much as I'm accustomed to.

At any rate- if you go to University, wear your kilt there. End of story.
